The Alabama Crimson Tide faced off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for the BCS National Championship at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida on January 7th, 2013. The total dominance of Alabama started early and didn’t let up until the Crimson Tide had ran up a 35-0 lead by the third quarter. Notre Dame finally put some points on the scoreboard midway through the third quarter but by then it was much too late for the Fighting Irish to muster any kind of a comeback. With this win the SEC extends it’s dominion on college football after now winning 7 straight National Championships in a row.
“The old lessons (work, self-discipline, sacrifice, teamwork, fighting to achieve) aren't being taught by many people other than football coaches these days. The football coach has a captive audience and can teach these lessons because the communication lines between himself and his players are more wide open than between kids and parents. We better teach these lessons or else the country's future population will be made up of a majority of crooks, drug addicts, or people on relief.” by Paul W. "Bear" Bryant - Alabama Coach
