Race at the Top
This year is the the big men in the trenches battling for No. 1. Allen (Texas) High offensive tackle Greg Little narrowly edged out Killeen (Texas) Shoemaker defensive tackle Kendell Jones. Little checks in as the nation’s No. 2 overall rated prospect and Jones comnes in at No. 3.
Little is one of the more refined tackles to come out since Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews, could he also follow that lead and become an Aggie in the future? Only time will tell.
Jones is an athletic freak specimen at 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, pulling down offers from a who’s who of national programs.
Fans will also want to keep an eye on Ed Oliver, a 6-foot-2, 260-pound defensive tackle from Spring (Texas) Westfield, because he will have the chance to push both of these guys for that top spot. He is one of the most feared defenders in the Lone Star State and has the film to back up his impressive physical stature.
