Alabama lands dual-threat QB Blake Barnett and the school with top recruiting class in the country keeps separating itself from everyone else. Blake Barnett gave his verbal commitment to coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide Wednesday.
According to Rivals.com, Barnett is a 4-star QB who had also considered Notre Dame. Barnett is nothing like A.J. McCarron or Greg McElroy, the dual-threat QB will allow Saban more versatility and an option for more creativity.
According to AL.com, Barnett has already been working with a quarterback coach to prepare him for Alabama’s pro-style offense. It would make sense Barnett is preparing to lead a traditional, pro-style offense, but it would be silly not to let him use his legs to his advantage when needed in a division that has shown the benefits of a mobile option under center in recent years.
