Last month, defensive tackle David Marshall named Auburn his leader over Ole Miss, Louisville, Mississippi State and North Carolina.
After picking up an Alabama offer during the recent camp in Tuscaloosa, however, a new favorite emerged.
“Alabama is my number one school,” Marshall told 247Sports. “They have been one of my dream schools since I was 8 and I have been waiting on this one. I grew up rooting for Alabama.”
The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder from Thomaston, Ga., attended Big Cat Weekend May 31 and said he enjoyed his time touring the campus. Auburn defensive line coach Rodney Garner has made a big impact as well.
“He said he’s going to work me hard, get me to the next level,” Marshall said. “I’ve got a good relationship with him.”
The four-star prospect racked up 20 sacks in 2013 and is considered a top target in the 2016 recruiting class, but doesn’t plan on making a commitment any time soon. He will be at Clemson this weekend and plans to return to Tuscaloosa next month for another camp.
