TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama baseball team is scheduled for two scrimmages to end the week, with the first coming on Friday afternoon and the second on Saturday morning to wrap up the first official week of fall practice.
The Crimson Tide will begin Friday practice at 2:30 p.m. CT with the first scrimmage of the new season starting roughly an hour after. Saturday’s work will kick off at 9:30 a.m. CT with the intrasquad following up an hour after, as well.
The two scrimmages will close out the first full week of the fall for Alabama baseball. The Tide took to the field for the first time as a complete squad on Tuesday afternoon and ended the day’s practice with a tour of the construction and facilities inside the renovated Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Athletics Director Bill Battle joined the team for its tour of the stadium and facilities. Alabama’s first week focused on fundamentals and drills, while the newcomers got acclimated to the Alabama baseball routine.
This year’s team returns 20 players from last season with many newcomers spotting the 2015-16 roster. The Crimson Tide will practice through the fall before breaking for the holidays. First pitch of the 2016 season inside The New Joe is set for Feb. 19 against the University of Maryland.
Alabama’s Diamond Dolls also announced their 2015-16 roster for the upcoming season. The following girls were selected for the new year:
