TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The football team worked out for just under two hours in shells Thursday afternoon inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility as it put the finishing touches on the game plan for its Southeastern Conference road game at No. 14 LSU Saturday night.
Saturday’s kickoff inside Tiger Stadium is set for 7 p.m. on CBS. Verne Lundquist will handle the play-by-play duties with Gary Danielson as the analyst and Allie LaForce on the sidelines. The game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network with the national radio broadcast on ESPN.
Alabama leads the series with LSU, 48-25-5, and has won three straight and five of seven in the series after a 38-17 win inside Bryant-Denny Stadium last season. The Crimson Tide actually owns a 26-9-2 record in Baton Rouge after a come-from-behind 21-17 victory at LSU in 2012. The biggest win in the series for Alabama was a 21-0 victory in the 2012 Allstate BCS Championship Game (2011 season) in New Orleans after LSU had pulled out a 9-6 overtime win during the regular season.
There are 10 players on the Alabama roster from the state of Louisiana, led by Geismar, La., native Landon Collins. The junior strong safety is second on the team in tackles with 54 stops, two interceptions, five pass breakups and two quarterback hurries
