West Virginia opens the 2014 season against Alabama in the Georgia Dome on August 30th in The Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game. That is so close to Alabama that it’s like a home game, right? Only 200 miles and a three hour drive.
But the territory is about as hostile as they could find. The Crimson Tide playing in the middle of Georgia Bulldog territory? What was someone thinking? That’s like Florida State opening their season in Gainesville, FL at the Gators’ Swamp.
OK, so once the Alabama fans sneak into the stadium they will find it filled with fans decked out in crimson red. You will not see much gold and blue, except in the endzone section.
Alabama is not known for scheduling tough teams outside the conference (would you?) and to them, this is just another warm-up against another patsy. Who else do they play out of conference?
Realistically, the schedule is set up to go into the SEC Conference games undefeated and highly ranked. So they open with three cupcakes in a row. After the Mountaineers, coming off
