Alabama will square off against the fourth-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes on Thursday, Jan. 1, in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The matchup will air on ESPN, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. CT. Alabama holds Allstate Sugar Bowl records with 15 overall appearances and eight victories, and is making its third appearance in the past four years. Alabama’s last Allstate Sugar Bowl victory came when the bowl hosted the BCS Championship Game on Jan. 10, 2012, where the Tide knocked off the LSU Tigers, 21-0, to take home the national championship.
The winner of Thursday’s game will earn the right to play for the inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday, Jan. 12, in Arlington, Texas.
