Alabama welcomed the Florida Atlantic Owls to Bryant-Denny stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the first time in this game. The Crimson Tide came into this contest riding high on the momentum of their 3-0 start to the 2012 season. Alabama's strength proved to be too much to for the Owls to handle as Alabama went on to an easy 40-7 victory, narrowly missing the shutout.
