For the second time in the past four years, Alabama's Kirby Smart has been recognized as college football's top assistant coach. The Crimson Tide's defensive coordinator was named the assistant coach of the year Tuesday by the American Football Coaches Association. In 2009, Smart won the Broyles Award that goes to the top assistant coach.
