Led by Heisman Trophy runner-up Manti Te’o, Notre Dame came into Monday night’s BCS national championship game fourth in the nation in rushing defense, allowing only 92 yards per game. Alabama running backs Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon were not impressed. Running behind a dominant offensive line that Yeldon called “the best O-line in the country,” Lacy gouged the Fighting Irish for 140 yards and a touchdown while Yeldon added 108 yards and another score to spur the Crimson Tide’s 42-14 rout.
