TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the second consecutive season, the Alabama men’s and women’s basketball programs will open the 2015-16 season with a doubleheader in Coleman Coliseum on Friday, Nov. 13. The women will tip off the campaign at 4:30 p.m. CT against Alabama A&M, followed by the men’s season opener vs. Kennesaw State at 7:30 p.m. CT.
First-year head coach Avery Johnson, who has coached seven-plus season in the NBA, will be make his collegiate coaching debut when the men’s team takes the floor to face the Owls. Meanwhile, Kristy Curry enters her third season at the helm of the Crimson Tide women’s program. The team welcomes back the majority of its starters from a season ago while also adding a talented group of newcomers in the nationally-ranked freshman class.
Last season, the men’s and women’s teams swept the season-opening doubleheader as the women defeated Florida A&M, 60-44, followed by an 82-54 victory by the men over Towson.
Fans will be able to purchase a ticket good for both games for $5, once single-game tickets go on sale on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Mini plans and all other single-game tickets for both men’s and women’s basketball will go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 8 a.m. CT.
