Alabama athletic director Mal Moore can look back on his conversations with Nick Saban and feel good about keeping the three-time national championship-winning coach with the Crimson Tide even as rumored NFL opportunities arise. Moore knows how Saban views the pro game and doesn’t believe it’s a place he’ll return without a drastic change of heart. “He’s expressed to me on several occasions … that he’s happy here,” Moore said. “He feels very comfortable, and I believe him.”
Alabama head coach Nick Saban reacts to his teams victory in the SEC Championship where the Crimson Tide stopped the Georgia Bulldogs offense just short of the end zone as time expired to clench the conference title and a birth in the BCS National Championship game against Notre Dame in Miami.
The Iron Bowl rivalry might be a bitter, nasty one between the Alabama and Auburn fanbases, but there's no hint of it between the two coaches. While South Carolina's Steve Spurrier and Clemson's Dabo Swinney have traded barbs throughout the [...]
Backup running back Brent Calloway ran a career-high seven times for a career-high 52 yards Saturday in the Alabama football team’s 49-0 victory over Western Carolina. Calloway also had three tackles (two solo) on kickoff coverage. Afterward, coach Nick Saban was asked what he thought of the redshirt freshman’s performance.
Lache Seastrunk once called Nick Saban to apologize. Now it’s Saban’s turn. He should call Seastrunk to say thank you. Seastrunk was one of the stars Saturday night in Baylor’s 52-24 upset of No. 1 Kansas State, which helped put Alabama’s BCS championship destiny back in its own hands. The sophomore running back playing his first season of college ball carried a career-high 19 times for a career-best 185 yards, including a career-long 80-yard touchdown sprint in the third quarter that pretty much put K-State to sleep.
Alabama is coming off a game in which it played an opponent with a similar physical style. The top-ranked Crimson Tide scored a last-minute touchdown and won 21-17 at LSU. Now it’s preparing for a very different team. No. 15 Texas A&M runs a fast-paced spread offense. Is a game like this won more on the practice field or in the film room?
The Alabama coach talks about teachable moments, why his wife would be a better president than him and more.

Like his football team, Alabama coach Nick Saban got his weekly radio show off to a good start and then finished strong Thursday night. Certainly that’s the way he hopes things go at 7 p.m. CDT Saturday when his top-ranked Crimson Tide visits No. 5 LSU in the biggest game of the year, to date.
They came here with this idea that they believed. Even hung a sign to proclaim it on the revered statue of Bear Bryant that stands in front of this glorious palace of college football. Mississippi State believes, all right. Believes more than ever – like we all should – that Alabama is so good and so completely in a class by itself, the only thing that ends the Tide’s chokehold on the sport is the departure of the man who started it all.
Listen to last night’s edition of the Nick Saban radio show with host Tom Roberts and media guest Todd Blackledge. Saban talks about this Saturday’s game against Tennessee, a game which Saban believes will provide the Crimson Tide with its biggest challenge yet this season.
I am sure the Offensive Line that used to push him around in practice will enjoy pushing him around even more now that he is on a rival team. Apparently he thinks he's got one foot in the NFL already [...]
