2012 Alabama vs Ole Miss Highlights
The Alabama Crimson Tide took on their second SEC Western Division opponent for the 2012 season at Bryant-Denny Stadium by welcoming Ole Miss to the field of play. Alabama stumbled and staggered throughout the night showing moments of glimmering performance and with less than stellar action in between. A lack of consistency seemed to be the theme for the night for Alabama. Ole Miss hung in the game for much of the first half. Alabama put some distance in between them and the Rebels in the second half, ending the game with a modest but satisfactory 33-14 victory.

Alabama holds it together in national title chase
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – The cleanup of crashing bodies is more than simply wiping the football field clean of blood and teeth. Trent Richardson has embraced the value of the training room. Needle and thread can do wonders for sewing Alabama’s toughest players back together after a physical pounding, such as the one experienced in Saturday’s 24-7 victory at Mississippi State. Richardson, Alabama’s junior running back and Heisman Trophy hopeful, said after a career-high 32 carries for 127 yards and a touchdown – his seventh 100-yard game of the season – he would donate some free time in exchange for extending his longevity as one of the nation’s most bruising rushers.

No. 3 Alabama 24, Mississippi State 7: Grading the Tide
STARKVILLE, Mississippi – As has been the case in several games this season, it took a while for Alabama’s offense to warm up. By the fourth quarter, it dominated, but what took so long? As has been the case in most games this season, Alabama’s defense dominated from start to finish. As has been the case lately, the special teams struggled. It all added up to a 24-7 victory Saturday night at Mississippi State.

Crimson Tide lacks consistent knockout punch
STARKVILLE, Miss. – What is the most glaring deficiency in Alabama’s offense? Here’s a hint: If you answered field goal kicking, you would be justified in your response but you would not be accurate. The answer is a lack of consistency. That’s not based only on the past two games, including Saturday night’s 24-7 victory at Mississippi State.

Alabama wins 24-7 at Mississippi State
STARKVILLE, Mississippi – Alabama’s raging response to its first loss apparently was locked in a cage somewhere very far from the clanging cowbells of Davis Wade Stadium. The Crimson Tide ultimately rescued itself from its deficiencies thanks in part to Mississippi State’s own problems, but mostly once again because of stout defense and its ability to wear opponents away in the second half.

Alabama running back Dee Hart did not travel to Mississippi State
STARKVILLE, Mississippi – Dee Hart did not dress for Saturday’s game at Mississippi State a week after the Crimson Tide true freshman dressed for his first collegiate game. Teams are limited to dressing 70 players for road games per SEC rules. Home teams may dress 95, but only 80 can participate.

FINAL: Alabama 24, Mississippi State 7
STARKVILLE, Mississippi – Alabama bounced back from its first loss with a 24-7 win at Mississippi State. The Crimson Tide defense clamped down in a game highlighted by hard hits, including Alabama’s five sacks and team-high 11 tackles by linebacker Dont’a Hightower. Alabama’s field goal kicking continued to be an issue with first-half misses of 49 yards by Cade Foster and 31 yards by Jeremy Shelley.

Football Beats Mississippi State, 24-7
STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Alabama Crimson Tide posted a 24-7 victory on Saturday night over the Mississippi State Bulldogs at Davis Wade Stadium to move to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the Southeastern Conference, while the Bulldogs dip to 5-5 on the season and 1-5 versus league foes. Junior running back Trent Richardson notched his seventh 100-plus rushing yard game of the season, finishing with a game-high 127 yards on the ground. Richardson’s performance against the Bulldogs moved him into Alabama’s top 10 in career rushing attempts as well as its single-season rushing yards list. Sophomore running back Eddie Lacyalso had a big game, finishing with 96 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns.

Bulldogs come with pair at quarterback
TUSCALOOSA – Just a week after facing a quarterback duo against LSU, the University of Alabama defense will get yet another two-headed player at the position Saturday at Mississippi State. Quarterbacks Chris Relf and Tyler Russell share the duties as well, and like LSU’s Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson, their skill sets bring a different dimension to the MSU offense.
