Alabama stumbled and staggered throughout the night showing moments of glimmering performance and with less than stellar action in between. STARKVILLE, Mississippi – Alabama bounced back from its first loss with a 24-7 win at Mississippi State. The Crimson Tide defense clamped down in a game highlighted by hard hits, including Alabama’s five sacks and team-high 11 tackles by linebacker Dont’a Hightower. Alabama’s field goal kicking continued to be an issue with first-half misses of 49 yards by Cade Foster and 31 yards by Jeremy Shelley.

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Alabama Crimson Tide posted a 24-7 victory on Saturday night over the Mississippi State Bulldogs at Davis Wade Stadium to move to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the Southeastern Conference, while the Bulldogs dip to 5-5 on the season and 1-5 versus league foes. Junior running back Trent Richardson notched his seventh 100-plus rushing yard game of the season, finishing with a game-high 127 yards on the ground. Richardson’s performance against the Bulldogs moved him into Alabama’s top 10 in career rushing attempts as well as its single-season rushing yards list. Sophomore running back Eddie Lacyalso had a big game, finishing with 96 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns.

TUSCALOOSA – Just a week after facing a quarterback duo against LSU, the University of Alabama defense will get yet another two-headed player at the position Saturday at Mississippi State. Quarterbacks Chris Relf and Tyler Russell share the duties as well, and like LSU’s Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson, their skill sets bring a different dimension to the MSU offense.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The football team held a two-hour practice session in full pads on Tuesday at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields as the Crimson Tide continued to prepare for Saturday’s game at Mississippi State. Kickoff is set for 6:45 p.m. CT in David-Wade Stadium. “Practice has been good this week,” said junior offensive lineman Chance Warmack. “We are focusing on Mississippi State and everything they have to offer. They are a real physical team that plays until the whistle blows.”
