TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Seven current and former University of Alabama women’s golfers will tee it up this week at the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic in Prattville, Ala. The four-day tournament is being held on the Senator Course at the Capitol Hill Golf Club, which is located just 95 miles southeast of Tuscaloosa, and tees off Thursday morning.
Five former Crimson Tide players, including Brooke Pancake, Jennifer Kirby, Stephanie Meadow, Jenny Suh and Kathleen Ekey, will compete as professionals. Joining the professional contingent are Alabama seniors Emma Talley and Janie Jackson, who are both competing as amateurs.
Pancake, Kirby and Meadow were all part of the Crimson Tide’s first NCAA Championship in 2012. Pancake’s four-foot putt on the 72nd and final hole clinched the win for head coach Mic Potter’s team. Talley then became the first Alabama golfer to capture medalist honors at the NCAA Championships this past May with a win at The Concession Club.
